Leeni is a Seattle-based chiptune musician who’s been performing, touring and releasing albums for 6 years. Chiptune describes a type of music that’s made with a video game console as the main instrument. Leeni composes her music on old Nintendo Gameboys, programming her songs one note at a time, then mixing those sounds with drum beats and vocals.
It’s been 6 years since Leeni first donned her Gameboy to write her debut album, 8-Bit Heart, and 5 years since her popular track “Headphones On Your Heart” was first composed and released. Since that time, Leeni has been receiving emails from fans all over the world, telling her a similar story: that the song was the reason they decided not to hurt themselves, that it gave them hope…and that it was a reason they are alive.
These messages have touched Leeni so much over the years that she wants to do more to give back to people who may be running low on hope. And this “Headphones On Your Heart” EP is her answer. 100% of the proceeds of all of the sales will go to support the Jed Foundation to support its “Love is Louder” movement as well as other programs. And for the remainder of the month of February, 50% of proceeds from sales of ALL of Leeni’s albums will also benefit The Jed Foundation.
The new EP features a re-vamped, 5th-anniversary version of “Headphones On Your Heart” as the title track, and the tracks that follow are upbeat, feel-good and fun. There will also be special bonus tracks and a couple videos from Leeni for everyone who downloads.
